Transportation Survey – We need your ideas.
We would like a few minutes of your time and your ideas about transportation – specifically, extending public transit within northern Mille Lacs County. We are exploring the possibility of bringing convenient, handicap accessible, affordable transportation options to the area. There is no guarantee that public transit services will be developed, but we want to understand the need for transit in an effort to explore existing and future opportunities. Your answers will help guide our work. Thank you.

2021 Chili Cookoff – Cancelled
Due to the unknowns of the public health emergency, the fact we are heading into winter wherein medical experts state we have more chances of spreading/catching COVID-19, restricted capacity of patrons in the establishment, and the City has cancelled all events for 2020, the hard decision was made to cancel the 2021 Beef Chili Cook Off.

Don’t miss out on viewing our Image Gallery, many photos of Wahkon past and present. We add photos throughout the year. Always fun to see the history and recognize the beauty of our city, parks and the “big pond”.

Wahkon Days 2020 Cancelled
Hello –
Regretfully last night Council came to the decision to cancel Wahkon Days 2020 due to COVID-19. Jonah & the Whales have graciously applied our deposit for next year’s street dance on 8/21/2021. Please take care and be safe! I look forward to coming back stronger than ever in 2021 and dancing the night away to new sounds from Jonah & the Whales.
Thanks everyone for all the time & energy you have given over the years. Take a break this year and be ready to roll in 2021!
